Engelhardt and Will have installed an archetypal replica of historical equestrian monuments in the entrance hall of the main building of the Kunsthochschule Hamburg. However, only its plastered base is recognizable. Viewers can access the sculpture via the web browser of their smartphone after scanning a QR code. The AR installation is based on clay sculptures that Engelhardt created in advance. She abstracted moments of failure, falling or death of sport horses. A sculpture is scanned in high-resolution 3D and digitally reworked. In this way, the sensitive object can be scaled to any size and reproduced as a digital sculpture on any device. Its isolated view stands in contrast to the omnipresent pedestal.
