The work TAKE ME HIGHER is based on research into the traces of horses in today's cities and in the buildings and myths of antiquity. Parallel to the hunt for traces, Engelhardt and Will collected current 3D objects of horses and centaurs from the internet in order to enter into a sculptural and interactive process with them. The nostrils are taken from a 3D scan of an antique horse figure (British Museum) and molded in plaster as a 3D print. The plaster mold serves as a template for porcelain casts. The ceramic nostrils, isolated from the horse figure, look more like abstract utensils than the breathing organ of an animal. They float in a net stretched through the room, reminiscent of the digital origin of the objects.
For the video which was installed on the ceiling in a room filled with sawdust (to imitate a stable), Will and Engelhardt's movements were transferred to a digital centaur so that the creature appears to contort itself uncontrollably: the movement of the human clashes with the anatomy of the animal.
